Virginia Maurine Scholl, daughter of Leslie Orlando Clark and Corda Lillian (Hart) Clark was born August 24, 1933 in rural Clarke County, Iowa and passed from this life May 15, 2012 at Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines, Iowa at 78 years of age.
After graduating from High School, Virginia moved to Des Moines where she lived and worked for over 20 years. She married Clarence Edwin Scholl on May 6, 1972 in Osceola, Iowa and they made their home on the family farm near Osceola. She loved the farm and being outdoors; she enjoyed humming birds, cattle, dogs, gardening, canning and mowing the lawn. She loved the time with her family, playing badminton, croquet, coloring and playing legos. She played the saxophone and passed that love to her daughter, three grandchildren and a great grandson. She also played the oboe and shared that love with her granddaughter. She enjoyed bowling, and had received her 600 pin for her 600 series. She enjoyed playing golf, dancing and music.
Virginia worked for Clarke County Public Health and was a strong advocate for breast and cervical screening and cancer awareness. She was a member of the Osceola First Christian Church, P.T.A., Osceola Eagles, National Bowling Club, and the Osceola Birthday Club.
Virginia was preceded in death by her father, Leslie Clark; daughter, Linda Sue Cannon; and sister, Barbara Jean Symonds Philpot.
Virginia leaves to cherish her memory: husband, Clarence Scholl of Osceola; daughter, J.M. Sue Taylor of Des Moines; son-in-law, Robert W. Taylor Sr. of St. Marys; daughter, Allison Kendall (Donald Buckingham) of Osceola; mother, Corda Clark of Osceola; brother, Gerald (Lynnette) Clark of Osceola; grandchildren, Robert W. Taylor, Jr. (Dr. Christina) of West Des Moines, Jacqueline L.M. Hyde (Ron) of Des Moines and Jessica L.M. Taylor of Des Moines; great grandchildren, Melani, Katherine, Benjamin and William Taylor and Nicholas Hyde; as well as other relatives and many friends.
Memorial contributions may be directed to "Bras for the Cause" for breast cancer and cervical cancer screenings.
Visitation will be on Friday, May 18, 2012 at Kale Funeral Home in Osceola. The family will greet friends 6-8 Friday evening.
Funeral services will be 10:30 A.M. Saturday, May 19, 2012 at Kale Funeral Home in Osceola.
Interment in Maple Hill Cemetery will follow funeral services on Saturday.
